Southwestern Minnesota and south-central Minnesota saw some meaningful rain Saturday evening and overnight Saturday night.
Worthington, Minn., recorded 1.45 inches of rain through 7 a.m. Sunday and it’s still raining there.
Rain continues this morning from west-central Minnesota through southwestern and south-central Minnesota. At mid-morning, spotty showers were located over the south metro and in parts of southeastern Minnesota. There were also a few scattered showers in north-central Minnesota.
Sunday rain outlook
Southern Minnesota will see the steadiest rain Sunday morning into Sunday afternoon, with a few embedded thunderstorms possible.

Roughly the southern half of the Twin Cities metro area is likely to see some periods of showers today. There is a chance of showers in the northern half of the metro area and into central Minnesota today. An isolated thunderstorm is also possible this afternoon.
Portions of northern Minnesota will also see a few scattered showers today, with an isolated thunderstorm possible.
Some forecast models show more breaks in the rain coverage this afternoon than other models.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s High Resolution Rapid Refresh (HRRR) model shows the potential rainfall pattern from 10 a.m. Sunday to 10 p.m. Sunday:
Our rain coverage in the Twin Cities metro area will depend in part on the track of the low pressure system moving slowly across Iowa today. A more southeasterly track gives us less rain in the metro area, a more easterly track would give us more minutes of rain today.

The average Twin Cities high temperature is 82 degrees this time of year. Metro area highs will be in the 70s today.
Much of Minnesota and western Wisconsin will see Sunday highs in the 70s:
There will be some lower 80s in far northwestern Minnesota and some 60s in southwestern and south-central Minnesota.
