Outdoor activities then could be affected by thunderstorms, with the best chance of thunderstorms Friday afternoon into Friday evening.
The Storm Prediction Center of the National Weather Service shows a slight risk (shaded yellow) of severe weather Friday afternoon into Friday night in portions of Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa and Illinois:

Slight risk means that scattered severe thunderstorms are possible. Isolated severe thunderstorms are possible in the darker-green shaded areas.

Dry Saturday, then some rain
Far northern Minnesota could see some scattered showers on Saturday, but Saturday looks dry across most of Minnesota and western Wisconsin.
Periods of rain are likely on Sunday in Minnesota and western Wisconsin, with some embedded thunderstorms at times.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s North American Mesoscale (NAM) forecast model shows the potential rain pattern from 4 a.m. Saturday to 7 p.m. Sunday:

Weekend temperatures
The average Twin Cities high temperature is 81 degrees on August 12. Metro area highs are forecast to reach the lower 80s this Saturday.
Saturday highs will be in the 80s across roughly the southern half of Minnesota, with mainly 70s to the north:

Portions of northeastern Minnesota could see highs in the 60s.
Sunday highs will be in the 60s in much of the northern third of Minnesota, with 70s elsewhere:
