With 85 percent of Minnesota in drought, we could really use some rain.
Far northwestern Minnesota looks mainly dry Saturday. Scattered showers have already popped up in parts of north-central and northeastern Minnesota. West-central and southwestern Minnesota are seeing some areas of rain and embedded thunderstorms at midmorning.
An approaching cool front and an upper-level disturbance will spread rain and some embedded thunderstorms across much of Minnesota and parts of Wisconsin as we go through Saturday and into Saturday evening.
The best chance of rain in the Twin Cities metro area appears to be sometime from about midafternoon into Saturday evening.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s North American Mesoscale (NAM) forecast model shows the potential rain pattern from noon Saturday to 11 p.m. Saturday:

Sunday looks dry in most of Minnesota. There could be an isolated Sunday shower in eastern Minnesota and western Wisconsin.

Saturday highs
The average Twin Cities high temperature is 76 degrees on Sept. 9. Metro area highs will be close to 80 degrees this Saturday afternoon.
Much of Minnesota will have Saturday highs in the 70s:
There will be some 60s in north-central and northeastern Minnesota. Parts of southeastern Minnesota will reach the lower 80s.
