It’ll be a cold weekend across Minnesota and Wisconsin.
Saturday morning lows are in the 20s across most of Minnesota, with teens in northwestern Minnesota and parts of west-central Minnesota.
The temperature at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport dipped to 29 degrees early Saturday, marking the first official 20s in the Twin Cities this autumn.

There will be some upper 20s in far northwestern Minnesota.
Twin Cities highs in the mid to upper 30s will be much colder than the average Oct. 28 Twin Cities high of 52 degrees.
Low temps late Saturday night/early Sunday morning will be mainly in the 20s:
Northwestern and north-central Minnesota will dip into the teens.

Saturday snowflake chances
Far south-central Minnesota could see some flakes at times this morning, but the main area of snow is expected to move into southwestern Minnesota by late Saturday morning, then spread across south-central and southeastern Minnesota as we go through the afternoon hours, lingering into early evening. Parts of southern and central Wisconsin will see some snow later this afternoon and this evening.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s North American Mesoscale forecast model shows the potential precipitation pattern from 11 a.m. Saturday to 11 p.m. Saturday:
Accumulating snow is expected to stay mainly south of the Twin Cities metro area, but a few light snow showers or flurries are possible in the metro area late Saturday afternoon and early Saturday evening.
Snow amounts up to one inch are possible this afternoon/early evening on grassy areas in far southern Minnesota…especially along and south of I-90.
Parts of northern Iowa could see a couple inches of snow today. The far northwestern corner of Iowa has a winter weather advisory for 1 to 3 inches of snow today.
