Wintry mix Thursday night, another storm Friday

Saturday temperatures will be fairly normal for early November, then milder temps arrive Sunday afternoon.

The average Nov. 4 Twin Cities high temperature is 48 degrees. Metro area highs are forecast to reach the upper 40s Saturday afternoon.

Saturday high temps will range from 30s in the northern third of Minnesota to 50s in  southwestern Minnesota, with a lot of 40s sandwiched between those two areas.

Sunday highs will reach the 50s across much of the southern half of Minnesota, with 60s in the southwest:

Northern Minnesota will see mainly 40s, with a few upper 30s in the far north.

Monday high temps will range from 30s in the north to 50s in the south:

Twin Cities metro area highs are projected to be in the mid 40s on Tuesday, followed by lower 50s Wednesday then mid 40s Thursday and lower 40s on Friday.

The metro are could see some rain showers at times Tuesday afternoon into Wednesday.

Parts of northern Minnesota could see a few occasional light snow showers and light rain showers today and this evening. Some spots up north could also see a bit of freezing drizzle. 

Periods of light rain are expected Sunday and Sunday night in much of the northern half of Minnesota as well as northwestern Wisconsin.

Far northern Minnesota could see a rain/snow mix at times Sunday and Sunday night. The daylight hours of Sunday are expected to be dry in the southern half of Minnesota plus west-central Wisconsin, then those areas could see some rain showers at times Sunday evening and overnight Sunday night.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s North American Mesoscale forecast model shows the potential precipitation pattern from 6 a.m. Sunday to 11 p.m. Sunday:

October precipitation was 1.92 inches wetter than normal in the Twin Cities. Precipitation includes October rainfall plus the water content of the October snow that we saw at the end of the month. 

The average Twin Cities temp for October (the average of all the daily high temps and daily low temps) was 2.4 degrees warmer than normal. October was the sixth consecutive warmer than normal month in the Twin Cities.

Daylight saving time ends at 2 a.m. this Sunday, so any clocks or time displays (on stoves etc.) that don’t automatically adjust to standard time should be set back one hour Saturday night.

Sunset in the Twin Cities will be at 4:56 p.m. Central Standard Time this Sunday. Those earlier sunset times always take awhile to get used to!
