Today in Fargo-Moorhead: Foggy Friday and an eventful weekend ahead

An evening and night of drizzle and fog is expected across eastern North Dakota, the National Weather Service warns, especially across the Devils Lake Basin. It could lead to freezing drizzle and travel impacts into Saturday morning.

We’ll wrap up Friday with a sunny 42-degree high and fog later, with high temperatures around 46 this weekend with a sun and cloud mix.

Minnesota uses miles of snow fences to catch blowing snow before it drifts onto roadways in a typical winter. At a one-of-a-kind test site near Moorhead, researchers are finding a year-round use for the snow fence.

Xcel Energy is proposing to keep operating its two Minnesota nuclear plants until the early 2050s.

State-subsidized MinnesotaCare insurance is currently available only to people under a certain income limit, but some state legislators want to open the program up to anyone.

A Moorhead school bus was rear-ended by another, because the driver of the second bus was distracted by rowdy students according to the Moorhead Schools Superintendent, the Fargo Forum reports.

Minnesota State University Moorhead’s network outage Thursday impacted school internet services, the Fargo Forum reports. An MSUM statement said its “IT team quickly contained the issue and secured systems. The IT team is working with the Minnesota State system office to investigate the source and determine the impact.”

The Red River Market is back at the West Acres Mall midday Saturday.

The Fargodome’s Monster Jam is happening Saturday.
