What a difference a day and a cold front make.
Monday’s high of 40 degrees in the Twin Cities is 34 degrees colder than Sunday’s record of 74 degrees, yet it is still 4 degrees warmer than the normal high of 36 degrees.
This week brings a quieter weather pattern with less extreme temperature swings. With little or no precipitation, it’s all about temperatures this week. Tuesday brings another day of cooler temperatures but with plenty of sunshine.
Wednesday and Thursday will bring temperatures above 50 degrees once again to southern Minnesota with a few 40s north.
And finally, the 40s return later this week and through the weekend with more typical 30s in northern Minnesota.
The new artificial intelligence forecast system model from the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts is cranking out temperatures in the 60s once again by next Tuesday, March 12.
