It turns out our big sloppy March storm set a new daily snowfall record at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport on Sunday — a heavy, wet 8.2 inches. The previous record for March 24 was 6.8 inches set in 1996.

Snowfall reports are still trickling in Monday afternoon. Overall, about 6 to 12 inches of snow fell across the greater Twin Cities area. Snowfall totals up north have exceeded a foot in many locations.
