That old saying if you don’t like the weather just wait 15 minutes applies to our rapidly changing forecast. Wednesday brings a mix of clouds and sun with another breezy day. Winds are gusting over 30 mph once again around Minnesota as we open May.

Our next rainmaker arrives overnight into Thursday morning. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s NAM 3 km model above shows the next rain moving into southern Minnesota overnight and spreading north through Thursday. The loop on the image above runs between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Thursday.

Overall, rainfall totals across Minnesota through Thursday look light with less than one-half inch for most areas. But far southern Minnesota along and south of the Interstate 90 corridor could pick up an inch or more.

Another rain shot arrives Saturday morning, but skies will clear later on Saturday.

Sunday brings the nicest day of the next several. Look for plenty of sun and highs in the 70s across southern Minnesota.
