President Trump said jobs and factories “will come roaring back” Wednesday as he announced new “reciprocal” tariffs on U.S. trade partners — including 34 percent on China, 20 percent on the European Union and 24 percent on Japan.

“This is going to bring us into chaos and uncertainty,” Klobuchar said. “And it’s reckless, it’s harmful and the problem is it could have irreversible effects in our relationships with these allies and friends.”

MPR News host Tom Crann spoke with Klobuchar moments after President Donald Trump announced the tariffs for the reaction from her side of the aisle. The senator is part of a coalition of Senate Democrats who want to block the tariffs.
