It’s been a gradual spring so far for Minnesota.

We’ve already passed the average date of our first 80-degree temperature in the Twin Cities of April 28. The warmest temperature so far in the Twin Cities has been 75 degrees on March 14 and April 17.

It looks like we have a chance to enjoy the first 80-degree temperatures in the Twin Cities on Sunday and Monday. We earn our springs in Minnesota.

We’re enjoying a mix of sun and a few clouds north on this springlike Wednesday. Highs will be in the 60s across most of our region.

Thursday brings a chance for scattered showers and a brief passing thunderstorm. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s FV3 model shows scattered, mostly light rains drifting across Minnesota through Thursday:

Warmer weekend ahead

Our next warm front arrives this weekend. Highs Saturday will reach 70 degrees again for much of Minnesota.

By Sunday temperatures will hit the 80-degree mark west of the Twin Cities. The warmth looks likely to last for the next one to two weeks.
