Our episodes of scattered thunder this week come on Monday evening and Friday it appears.

In between, we enjoy a sunny and classic July weather pattern this week. July will live up to its reputation of warm sunny days with highs into the 80s most of this week.

Stormy Friday

After Monday evening’s scattered thunderstorms, it appears our next weather wave arrives Friday across much of Minnesota.

The European model is among many that track a couple waves of thunderstorms from the Dakotas across Minnesota between late Thursday night and early Saturday morning. The forecast model loop below runs between 7 p.m. Thursday and 1 a.m. Saturday.

Overall rainfall totals this week favor one to two inches of rain for most of Minnesota.

Friday’s storms have the potential to dump locally heavier rainfall in parts of Minnesota. The chance for several inches of rain is there with the excessive rainfall outlook Friday.
