Ready for some mid-summer weather whiplash?
The heat index hit 102 degrees in St. James Tuesday afternoon. Corn sweat (evapotranspiration from corn plants) turbo charged dew points to near 80 degrees in parts of southwest Minnesota Tuesday afternoon.

Overall Tuesday’s storm produced heavy downpours and a few severe weather reports around Minnesota.

4 NNE Nemadji [Carlton Co, MN] Public reports Tstm Wnd Dmg at 3:09 PM CDT -- Corrects previous tstm wnd dmg report from 4 NNE Nemadji. Multiple trees and a flagpole were downed at the reporters location. Time estimated by radar.
7 S Motley [Todd Co, MN] Public reports Tstm Wnd Dmg at 4:12 PM CDT -- Public report of trees down near US10 south of Motley. Relayed via county dispatch.
1 ENE Silver Bay [Lake Co, MN] Law Enforcement reports Flood at 6:30 PM CDT -- Water 4 to 6 inches deep on Banks Blvd. Law enforcement said it appeared to be receding.
October surprise Wednesday
Now we get slapped by an October like cold front Wednesday. Highs will be stuck in the 60s for most of Minnesota Wednesday.
Scattered chilly rain will fall Wednesday especially during the morning hours. NOAA’s HRRR model shows the system trends between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. Wednesday.

The sun will return to most of Minnesota Thursday into the upcoming weekend. Highs will reach the 70s once again Thursday, with lower 80s by Sunday.
