As nature’s ‘ecosystem engineers,’ beavers could help fight effects of climate change

Beavers benefit the environment by acting as "ecosystem engineers," creating dams that slow water flow, reduce flooding and improve water quality. Their wetlands also provide habitat for fish, birds and other wildlife.
