The autumnal equinox occurred at 1:19 p.m. Central Daylight Time Monday. We’re now officially into the astronomical fall season.
Fall is morning fog season for many areas, especially around Lake Superior. A dense fog advisory is in effect until 10 a.m. Tuesday morning for most of northeastern Minnesota and northwestern Wisconsin.

...DENSE FOG ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 8 PM THIS EVENING TO 11 AM CDT TUESDAY...
* WHAT...Visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog.
* WHERE...In Minnesota, Carlton, South and Central St. Louis, and Northern Cook and Lake Counties. In Wisconsin, Ashland, Bayfield, Douglas, and Iron Counties. This includes the Tribal Lands of the Bad River Reservation, the Red Cliff Band, the Bois Forte Band, Lake Vermilion area, the northwestern area of the Lac du Flambeau Band and the Fond du Lac Band. Other locations including Madeline Island and the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore. This also includes the Boundary Waters eastern and central area.
* WHEN...From 8 PM this evening to 11 AM CDT Tuesday.
* IMPACTS...Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous.
