It’s been a soggy Tuesday around most of central and western Minnesota.
Steady rain fell west of the Twin Cities most of the day Tuesday. Rainfall totals reached meaningful levels in many areas with the heaviest totals in northwest Minnesota.
Here are some preliminary rainfall totals Tuesday, with rain still falling after these reports in many areas.
Karlstad, 1.48 inches
Roseau, 1.13 inches
Crookston, 0.95 of an inch
Thief River Falls, 0.91 of an inch
Warroad, 0.68 of an inch
Lake Shore, 0.67 of an inch
Fergus Falls, 0.59 of an inch
Annandale, 0.53 of an inch
Moorhead, 0.51 of an inch
Minnetonka, 0.47 of an inch
There was a sharp cutoff on the eastern edge of the rain zone. The central and eastern Twin Cities received very little rainfall.

Sun returns Wednesday
We may see some fog Wednesday morning but the sun should shine as the day ripens in most of Minnesota. Highs will run in the 40s and 50s Wednesday and Thursday.
Halloween looks mainly dry with just a slight chance for a few light showers. Trick or treat temperatures will fall through the 40s in the evening.
The weekend looks uneventfully cool with highs in the 40s and 50s. There are signs we will warm back into the 50s to low 60s early next week. No big snowy surprises on the weather maps just yet though a couple models hint at light snow possible in the north late next week.
The average date for the first inch of snow at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport is Nov. 18.
