It’s been a beautiful Wednesday at the Weather Lab. 

Sunshine and fiery red sugar maples decorate the landscape as we head toward October’s swan song Friday.

Clear skies overnight will help temperatures drop into the frosty 30s around most of Minnesota by Thursday morning. 

Highs Thursday afternoon run a few degrees either side of 50 around most of Minnesota.

Halloween 2025 brings some clouds with a few sprinkles possible and cool temperatures. But overall, it will be pretty typical stuff for late October in Minnesota. Highs will run mostly in the 40s Friday. 

The weekend looks decent with highs into the 40s to around 50 again in the south by Sunday.

The overall weather pattern as we head into November next week favors warmer-than-normal temperatures once again. 

Highs in the 50s next week look likely in the south. We may even tickle 60 degrees once again in southern Minnesota next week.

Right now, I don't see any evolving wintry storms on the weather map through next week. The average date for the first inch of snow in the Twin Cities is Nov. 18.
