It’s Spotify wrapped season. On Wednesday, the music app released its 2025 Wrapped, which provides users with a personalized reflection of their year in music with top artists, songs and more. Wrapped Mapped provides data from major cities in each continent.
Minneapolis mostly follows the trends across the nation with country artist Morgan Wallen as top artist and the top song as “luther (with sza)” by Kendrick Lamar.
The next four top songs in Minneapolis were: “Ordinary” by Alex Warren, “Pink Pony Club” by Chappell Roan, “tv off (feat. lefty gunplay)” by Kendrick Lamar and “Sailor Song” by Gigi Perez.
Minneapolis did stand out against the rest with the inclusion of “Sailor Song.” No other city in North America had the indie folk song on their list. The dreamy, emo song went viral on TikTok several times.
The music-streaming app only shows one Minnesota city, favoring Minneapolis for the breakdown over the capital city (and the rest of the state).
Other data show Bad Bunny as Spotify’s Global Top Artist for the fourth time, Taylor Swift as the top artist in the U.S. and “Fourth Wing” by Rebecca Yarros as the top audiobook in the U.S.
