Two schools in Minnesota had to move to e-learning after widespread illness among students. Both Math and Science Academy in Woodbury and Churchill Elementary in Cloquet had to adjust lesson plans.
Karen Martin, an epidemiologist supervisor with the Minnesota Department of Health said it’s expected this time of year.
“I don’t think that there’s a part of the state or area that is free of influenza,” she said. “I think everyone, everyone should be on alert.”
She added that it’s still not too late to get vaccinated.
“This is a really important step that you can take to try and prevent disease and disease spread,” Martin said.
