At least two measles cases have been confirmed at a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility in Texas, according the Department of Homeland Security. The facility has housed some people detained in Minnesota amid the ongoing surge of federal agents.

On Saturday, the Texas Department of State Health Services confirmed active measles infections in two detainees at the Dilley Immigration Processing Center.

“ICE Health Services Corps immediately took steps to quarantine and control further spread and infection, ceasing all movement within the facility and quarantining all individuals suspected of making contact with the infected,” according to a statement from Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin with DHS.

Medical staff is continuing to monitor the detainees’ condition and taking steps to prevent further infection, according to DHS.

“All detainees are being provided with proper medical care,” McLaughlin said. Her statement also claimed that for many of the detainees, “this is the best healthcare (they) have received in their entire lives.”

The Dilley center is where 5-year-old Liam Conejo Ramos and his father were held for more than a week after being 

 on Jan. 20 in Columbia Heights on their way home from school. Liam and his father, Adrian Conejo Arias, 

 on Sunday morning after a judge ordered their release. 

Numerous other Minnesotans have been detained at the center, including the 

 from Hopkins. Dilley is located along Interstate 35 about halfway between San Antonio and Laredo, Texas.
