Lake Street businesses are cautiously optimistic about a federal drawdown

The city of Minneapolis estimates local businesses have lost $10 to 20 million per month in revenue during ICE's operations in the city.
That includes Lake Street, a diverse corridor of local businesses on the South Side of Minneapolis.
Yusra Mohamud is a business advisor with the Lake Street Council. She says businesses there will believe a drawdown when they see one, but are ready for some hope.
“There's still a long road ahead,” she told MPR News host Clay Masters. “But I think we deserve to have a little bit of relief.”
Mohamud said mutual aid and other donations have helped keep businesses afloat, but they will need more substantial economic relief from city and statewide leaders.
