Funeral services will be held later this week for the Minnesota soldier killed in Kuwait earlier this month.
39-year-old Army Reserve Sgt. Nicole Amor of White Bear Lake was stationed in Port Shuaiba, Kuwait, with an Iowa-based unit helping supply troops in the region with food and equipment. She and five other soldiers were killed in an airstrike on March 1.
Amor’s family will hold a public visitation on Thursday from 2-6 p.m. at Mueller Memorial funeral home in White Bear Lake. A memorial service is scheduled for Friday at noon at Eagle Brook Church in White Bear Lake.
She’ll be buried in a private family ceremony at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

Amor is survived by her husband Joey Amor and two children. In her obituary, her family remembered her as “an amazing wife, mother and friend.”
“She loved with all of her heart, and she always knew exactly when to throw that perfectly timed sarcastic remark your way,” her obituary reads. “That was her; strong, loving and real.”
Amor’s family is planning to build a greenhouse in her memory, in honor of her love of gardening. An online fundraiser had raised more than $87,000 as of Tuesday morning.
Amor was one of six soldiers killed in the airstrike, shortly after the U.S. began its war in Iran. Her husband said she was just days from her scheduled return home. Another Minnesota soldier, Cory Hicks of Princeton, was injured in the same attack.
