They call it a Blue Norther in Texas. It’s a powerful cold front that can drop temperatures 30 degrees or more in a matter of minutes or a few hours.
Thursday’s cold front that blew into Minnesota may not be quite that dramatic, but temperatures Thursday are a good 30 degrees colder across most of central and southern Minnesota.
With the clouds we can call it a gray norther this time, I guess.
Friday brings one more wintry feeling day to Minnesota. We enjoy plenty of sunshine and blue skies, but highs will hover in the 20as north and 30s in most of the south. Gusty northwest winds to 25 mph at times will make it feel much colder Friday.

Saturday brings wind too, but from the opposite direction. South winds will feel chilly, but milder air will funnel north by afternoon with highs returning to the 50s.
Sunday brings sun, lighter winds and temperatures pushing 70 degrees in the south by the afternoon.
Next week starts mild with highs in the 60s again in the south Monday. The forecast maps are still pushing some kind of rain and possible snow system through Minnesota midweek.
