Wintry mix spreads across Minnesota

Our dueling sloppy wintry storms last week dumped some prolific wet snowfall totals across parts of northwest Minnesota. The heaviest snowfall zone featured snowfall from 8 inches to more than a foot from North Dakota through Fargo-Moorhead into northwest Minnesota.

In the Twin Cities and points south, it was mostly rain. Most areas around the Twin Cities picked up more than an inch of liquid moisture over the past week. 

And check out the prolific rainfall totals across southeast Minnesota, northeast Iowa and southwest Wisconsin. Between 2 and 6 inches fell across that region. There are some soggy farm fields and swiftly running streams in that area!

This week will be quieter across our region. Other than a few rain and snow showers into early Monday, the highest rainfall chances arrive Wednesday with some snow possible in the north.

Highs Monday will be cool under cloudy, breezy skies.

The sun comes out again Tuesday with highs in the 30s north to 40s south.

Wednesday brings the warmest day of the week, with 60s returning to the south.

There are signs we may see 60s again in the south for the weekend of April 11-12.

Spring is taking its sweet time this year, it appears.
