Despite a warmup on the way, Minnesota has been cooler than normal. According to climatologist and meteorologist Mark Seeley, many areas have the state have seen frosty nights.

“We’ve had a lot of mornings up north between 15 and 19 degrees, and we've had frosts emerge in the observations even as far south as down along the Iowa border,” Seeley said.

The colder weather has been accompanied by dry conditions. So far, there has been no rainfall this month

While some rain is possible through Tuesday, “those are widely scattered showers. Nothing that's going to leave a big footprint on the state,” Seeley added.
