Temperatures during the first few days of November were rainy and far above normal.
“We had most areas receive 1 to 2 inches, but we had many areas of the state that received over 4 inches” climatologist and meteorologist Mark Seeley told MPR News.
Minnesota saw its wettest November statewide in 2000 when the state averaged 3.39 inches with many areas receiving 4 to 6 inches of precipitation, Seeley said.
For the Twin Cities, the wettest year came in 1991 following the Halloween blizzard. “November of 1991 produced 5.29 inches of precipitation in the Twin Cities and 46.9 inches of snow,” Seeley said. “Many people will remember that one.”
