After last summer’s shootings killed former Minnesota House Speaker Melissa Hortman and gravely injured Sen. John Hoffman, Minnesota politicians called for more dialogue and less division.
But continued partisanship ultimately led some of them to decide to leave the legislature. That includes Rep. Erin Koegel, who has wrapped up her last session in the House.
Nearly one year after Hortman's assassination, Rep. Koegel spoke with MPR News host Clay Masters on “All Things Considered” about her reflections on the past year.
