Every election year, the Minnesota State Fair turns into a political proving ground as candidates jockey for attention, schmooze with voters and work to avoid an embarrassing moment that will live beyond the Labor Day conclusion.
Some habits are tried and true:
Scoping out the butter sculptures or animal barns to demonstrate admiration for agriculture
