Like other higher education institutions, the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system is struggling to manage increasing costs and financial challenges.
Although enrollment has grown, it has not outpaced inflation, maintenance costs, compensation and other expenses, Chancellor Scott Olson said in a statement last week.
MPR News host Cathy Wurzer spoke with Olson about the financial challenges ahead and how system leaders plan to respond.
