Colder temperatures are creeping in, but summer temperatures lingered in September. For the fourth consecutive year, Minnesota recorded a much warmer-than-usual September.
“The statewide average, which was just under 62 degrees, marks the 10th-warmest September in state history,” said climatologist and meteorologist Mark Seeley.
The other big theme of September was wetness brought on by an abundance of precipitation. Portions of Fillmore County reported over 12 inches of rain for the month, and portions of Houston County reported over 11 inches.
