The first of two waves of rain and thunder is moving through Minnesota Friday. Another wave of rainfall develops Sunday. There’s a marginal risk of severe weather in far southern Minnesota.

Thursday will be warmer with some high clouds. Winds increase again and stay high as rain and thunderstorms develop on and off Friday into the weekend.

A mixed drought report for Minnesota Thursday

Thursday’s drought conditions report shows that the portion of Minnesota considered abnormally dry decreased, but drought increased in northwestern Minnesota. Southeastern Minnesota saw improvement as last week’s rainfall was included in this week’s report.
