It’s a rare colder-than-normal day Friday. Highs will be mostly in the teens with partly cloudy skies. Temperatures warm back up over the course of the weekend.

The lack of snowfall this winter has been staggering, but we finally saw a significant snowfall in the Twin Cities Wednesday night. The snowfall broke a daily record and was the largest since last spring.

Behind the fresh snowfall we’ll see sunshine Thursday, but it will be breezy and cooler with a colder overnight Thursday night into Friday. Temperatures will warm back up by Sunday and Monday. 
Winter weather advisories and winter storm warnings: Snow is on the way
A winter weather advisory and winter storm warning is posted for portions of southern Minnesota for Wednesday afternoon into Wednesday night. Several inches of snow could fall in some areas. 
Snow! Winter weather advisory includes southern Twin Cities
Snow will begin in southwestern Minnesota by around midday Wednesday. The first flakes should arrive in the Twin Cities by late afternoon with the steadiest snow through Wednesday evening.
