Single digit highs; no big snows
Minnesota high temps will be in the single digits below zero in the north today, single digits above zero in the south. Northern Minnesota will see the coldest low temps Friday morning, in the 20s below zero.
Icy and turning sharply colder
The depths of the cold air will be Wednesday through Friday. Highs in the Twin Cities are likely to be around 4 degrees on Wednesday, 2 on Thursday and 8 on Friday. The weekend will bring slight relief.
The winter weather advisory has been extended to 6 a.m. Tuesday for much of southern and central Minnesota, including the Twin Cities metro area, and western Wisconsin. Periods of freezing drizzle can be expected overnight, and some roads will be icy.
