Flooding, lake sewage releases: What we've learned
There's an ick factor to the storms that swept across Minnesota this weekend. Torrential rain dropped as much as five-and-a-half inches in parts of the state by Monday morning. That caused sewer overflows into Lake Minnetonka that have already closed beaches. But experts say that's supposed to happen.
Missing Rainier climbers came from far and wide, and St. Paul
The identities of the two guides from Seattle-based Alpine Ascents International were released on its website Monday. The company and Mount Rainier National Park have refused to release other names, citing privacy issues, but family members and colleagues have released details on three other climbers.
The crash happened Sunday afternoon at the Stevens Point Municipal Airport. There was no immediate word on the extent of any casualties.
Rob Mahaney says the family is trying to keep hope alive for his 26-year-old nephew, Mark Mahaney. But he told The Associated Press on Sunday they recognize the prognosis is grim.
Officials freed the man and the girl from the tent. The girl was pronounced dead at the scene, and the man and boy were taken to a hospital.

The co-owner of the Philadelphia Inquirer was among seven people killed in a plane crash on Saturday in Massachusetts.
It is believed the group fell 3,300 feet from their last known whereabouts of 12,800 feet on Liberty Ridge, Mount Rainier National Park spokeswoman Patricia Wold said in a statement.
Tou Hu Vang was fishing with his 11-year-old nephew last Sunday when the boy slipped into swift-moving river. Vang and a bystander jumped in to rescue the boy.
It's going to be another warm day across the state. The weather has some Minnesotans back out fishing and boating but this spring the water could be dangerous. A young teen died in the Mississippi River near St. Paul over the weekend, and a man missing in the St. Croix is also presumed to have drowned. MPR's Cathy Wurzer spoke with Kara Owens is Boat and Water Safety Specialist for the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources about staying safe in and around water.
