U of M veterinarians help animals caught in floods
A second team of veterinarians from the University of Minnesota is in Iowa helping care for animals displaced by the floods. They are working in a make-shift shelter in Cedar Rapids, where more than 600 pets and stray animals are being housed.
The condition of the autistic man who was rescued after seven days in the Wisconsin woods has improved from critical to serious. Keith Kennedy remains in the intensive care unit at a Minneapolis hospital.

Flooding across the Midwest has forced the Army Corps of Engineers to close several locks along the Mississippi River, halting barge traffic from St. Louis to St. Paul.
Hundreds of volunteers, in addition to search dogs, planes, helicopters and ATVs, helped authorities search for Keith Kennedy, a 25-year old autistic man who was lost for one week in the Wisconsin woods.
