After the Monday evening sessions of the RNC were canceled because of Hurricane Gustav, delegates suddenly found themselves with extra time on their hands.
With all those extra hours to spare on the first day of the RNC, convention-goers are spending more time getting to know the city and opening their wallets there. At least, that's what civic boosters and business owners were hoping for.
Hurricane Gustav may have given the Republican National Convention a less celebratory tone, but that doesn't mean the RNC will be completely devoid of fun.
