FDA nixes 'corn sugar' label for syrup

The Food and Drug Administration has rejected the Corn Refiners Association's bid to rename high fructose corn syrup as "corn sugar." The FDA says it defines sugars as a solid, dried and crystallized food -- not a syrup.
