Alex Simpson

Technical Director and Newscaster

Meet Alex Simpson

Alex Simpson is the technical director of media operations at MPR and a fill-in newscaster at MPR News.   

 Alex previously worked as a master control specialist in MPR | APM’s International Control Center and as a recording engineer at Audio Ruckus Recording, a professional TV and radio voice-over studio in downtown Minneapolis.  

Alex graduated from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities with a bachelor’s degree in journalism.  

Alex lives in south Minneapolis with his wife, dog and two cats. He's an avid basketball fan, enjoys writing music and loves working on his 100-year-old house.
