Meet Heidi Raschke

Heidi​ Raschke is a senior producer for MPR News.  

Heidi began her journalism career in college on the Minnesota Daily's copy desk at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. After graduation, her first role was as managing editor at ComputerUser, where she edited long, technical articles from early-'90s computer experts for a general audience. She then joined Mpls.St. Paul Magazine as assistant editor, where she managed and fact-checked the magazine’s monthly guide to local dining, arts and entertainment.  

Heidi’s next role was as a copy editor, writer and critic at the Twin Cities Reader, which also published Q Monthly. She then oversaw events and travel coverage at Twin Cities Sidewalk, an early digital city guide, before becoming a digital editor for news and sports at the Pioneer Press. She served as editor-in-chief of Request, a national music and entertainment magazine by MusicLand Group.  

After graduating from Prior Lake High School, Heidi was accepted to the University of Minnesota's Honors Program. She already knew she wanted to be a journalist. Her focus in Journalism School was magazine writing. She minored in Spanish.  

Heidi has two wonderful daughters, and a very glamorous white pit bull named Swan. She is the daughter of a professional wrestler, Baron Von Raschke, "The Claw." Heidi loves the Twin Cities vibrant arts and music scenes and staying in camper cabins at Minnesota's many state parks.
