Estranged wife of Minnesota corrections commissioner faces an attempted murder charge

The estranged wife of Department of Corrections Commissioner Paul Schnell, Julie Myhre-Schnell is accused of giving their adult disabled son a high dose of anti-anxiety medication. Also, state officials continue to investigate two mysterious sheens on the Mississippi River northwest of downtown Minneapolis.

Second sheen spotted on Mississippi River; Deep fried ranch at the Minnesota State Fair

Authorities say a second sheen was spotted on the Mississippi River in the northern Twin Cities metro area yesterday. And the Minnesota State Fair opened this morning, and visitors are getting the first tastes of the new foods. Fairgoers joined long lines at Lulu's Public House to try the new deep-fried ranch.
