Five years since its founding, Twin Cities nonprofit Mile in My Shoes continues to forge bonds between people who are homeless or living in halfway houses, and mentors from the local running community. Those partnerships were on display Sunday at a 5K race.
"We didn't play our best," Minnesota coach Jamie Trachsel said. "We're not going to make excuses about it. We certainly won't have any regrets about it. ... We're not going to let one weekend define or change anything we've been able to accomplish together."
The Twins now have a 10-game lead in the AL Central and have won 11 of their past 12 games. Minnesota swept a series for the seventh time this season; they swept eight series all of last season.
