The Minnesota Vikings and their fans are coping this morning with the sudden end to the season. The Vikings fell one game short of the Superbowl when they lost to the New Orleans Saints last night in overtime. The final score was 31 to 28.

Battered and beaten, Brett Favre limped off
the field for perhaps the last time. He threw an ill-advised pass late in the fourth quarter which was intercepted, and eventually led to New Orleans' game-winning field goal over the Minnesota Vikings in the NFC championship game.
The New Orleans Saints beat the Minnesota Vikings 31-28 in overtime to make their first trip ever to the Superbowl. Saints kicker Garrett Hartley kicked a 40-yard field goal to win the game.
