Marie-Philip Poulin scored at 4:02 of the third overtime period and Ann-Renee Desbiens made 38 saves to record the shutout as the Montreal Victoire defeated the Minnesota Frost 1-0 in Game 2 of the Professional Women’s Hockey League semifinal series on Tuesday.
The fine was the result of Curl-Salemme’s altercation with Montreal’s Abby Roque, in which both were penalized for roughing earlier in the second period.
The two-time defending champion Frost scored five times against Ann-Renée Desbiens — the league's stingiest goaltender, who led with a 1.11 goals-against average and a 0.955 save percentage.

The Minnesota Frost are seeking to three-peat and open against two-time regular-season defending champion Montreal. The Boston Fleet return following a one-year absence, and face the Ottawa Charge in a matchup of the PWHL’s two other teams to reach the Walter Cup Final before losing to Minnesota.
The PWHL regular-season champion Montreal Victoire bucked the standings by choosing to open their semifinal playoff series facing the third-place — and two-time defending Walter Cup champion — Minnesota Frost. In selecting Minnesota, Montreal also set the other best-of-five semifinal matchup of second-place Boston Fleet facing fourth-place Ottawa Charge.
Defenseman Sophie Jaques scored at 1:24 of overtime to give the expansion Vancouver Goldeneyes a 4-3 victory over the Minnesota Frost on Saturday in the final regular-season game for both teams.
Alex Carpenter and Gabrielle David scored nine seconds apart, Anna Wilgren added a goal for her third in two games, and the Seattle Torrent beat the Minnesota Frost 5-4 for their first victory in the series.
Jessie Eldridge scored two goals to go with an assist, Alina Müller had two assists and a goal, and the Boston Fleet beat the Minnesota Frost 3-2. Boston (15-5-2-5) moved within one point of first-place Montreal (58), with the two teams set to face each other on Friday.
