Snow gives way to cold today

Twin Cities NWS weather story highlights snow and cold today.
A little snow goes a long way sometimes.
The nightmare morning commute will give way to a bitterly cold PM rush today. The Alberta Clipper dropping 1" to 2" of fresh powdery snowfall in the metro is bringing in a fresh shot of arctic air behind it. As the snow ends from north to south today, temperatures will plunge.

Look for snowfall to end from north to south today. Icy snow covered roads will linger as the cold plunges in. Winds will increase dropping wind chill values to the -15 to -30 range in much of Minnesota, with some areas plunging to -35 to -40.
The arctic air will dominate the region until Sunday, what a moderating trend begins. Highs should reach the 20s Sunday, and highs in the 30s are possible for southern Minnesota next week.
Use extreme caution on slick roads today, and hang in there!
