Islamic civil rights group, St. Cloud schools pledge cooperation
The St. Cloud school district and a Minnesota Islamic civil rights group that filed a complaint against the district say they are considering issuing a joint statement to the community.
The statement from the school district and the Minnesota chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations would say they have been partners in working through issues in the schools.
The St. Cloud Times reports that after a meeting on Friday, CAIR also agreed to consider writing a second letter to federal Department of Education saying the same thing.
Last week, CAIR filed a complaint with the U.S. Department of Education claiming that Muslim students confront a hostile learning environment in St. Cloud schools.
