The Minnesota Supreme Court is convening at New Prague High School next month to hear an appeal in a high profile double murder case out of Waseca.
About 600 area students are expected to watch on May 11 as attorneys argue to overturn Michael Zabawa's murder convictions. Jurors found in September that Zabawa killed Tracy Kruger and his 13-year-old son, Alec, after breaking into their home three years ago.
Zabawa is serving two consecutive life sentences, and additional time for wounding Kruger's wife, Hilary.
Zabawa's attorneys are saying his confession was coerced.
After the oral arguments, justices will answer students' questions, eat lunch with students, and visit classrooms. The visit is part of a biannual program to teach students about the high court.
A ruling on the appeal will be issued at a later date.
