Taking dead aim

Get ready to hunker down.

Once again Mother Nature has Minnesota dead in her sites for a dump of snow. This time she expands the calamity into Wisconsin.

The two previous snow storms this season that have impacted eastern Minnesota produced a heavy wet snow, followed by fluffy snowfall. During the next thirty-six hours we will experience a more fluffly snowfall.

Here is the target area for the greatest probability of eight inches of of fresh snow by daybreak on Saturday. Snow is expected to develop this afternoon and engulf a large part of eastern Minnesota and Wisconsin later tonight and Saturday.

Snowflakes will fly horizontal, whipped by winds of twenty-five miles an hour or greater, with wind chill readings dropping to below zero later in the day on Saturday. You may just want to stay put on Saturday. Some locations may experience white-out conditions.
