Chipotle Mexican Grill is denying it owes back pay to fired workers in the Twin Cities.
Two former workers are suing the Denver-based restaurant chain alleging it failed to pay earned wages or to do so in a timely fashion as required under state law.
The lawsuit is seeking class-action status.
Chipotle started firing undocumented workers at its Minnesota restaurants in December, following an immigration audit. The company says it has paid everyone in full.
"We provided contact information to employees so anyone who did not feel they were paid everything they were owed could contact us, and we have heard from only a few employees. In each case, everyone had been compensated in full," the company said.
