Top 3 severe weather apps

Last week, we talked about severe weather with meteorologists Paul Huttner and Paul Douglas. Both stressed the need to have a warning system in your home; the severe weather sirens are not enough.

The NOAA weather radio was their top recommendation.

Paul Douglas uses Radarscope, an iPhone app. (He suggested he was a little addicted to looking at it.)

The iMap Weather Radio app won the Appy Award this year. It is made by the same folks as the Radarscope. It'll send you notifications if dangerous weather is headed your way.

Paul Huttner also likes Radarscope and he recommends My-Cast, a smartphone app with weather maps, forecast and alerts.
