More stadium 'listening' stops scheduled
The Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority has set two more stops on its listening tour for a new stadium for the Minnesota Vikings.
The authority and representatives of the Dallas firm designing the stadium will be in Rochester in mid November and in Duluth the week after Thanksgiving.
The Rochester stop is scheduled for the evening of Nov. 13 at the DoubleTree Hotel in downtown Rochester. The Duluth event will be at the Holiday Inn downtown on Nov. 27. Both are Tuesday meetings starting at 5:30 p.m.
The events will include representatives of HKS Architects, which are working now to sketch out what activities and features the stadium will need to accommodate. The firm's project leader, Bryan Trubey, will also be on hand, as will executives from the Minnesota Vikings.
Authority chairwoman Michele Kelm Helgen last week said that the meetings may include updates on some of the design features that might be included in the final design of the billion-dollar stadium. A design is expected to be unveiled by February.
